Join DRP for a free webinar on using petrography for diagnosis and prognosis of structures affected by alkali-silica reaction (ASR).

ASR is a serious concrete durability concern the world over. It affects everything from pavements, bridges, and runways to water treatment plants and building foundations.

We will use case studies to show how petrographic tools such as fluorescence microscopy, the Damage Rating Index, and scanning electron microscopy are central to diagnosing the presence of ASR.

DRP’s webinar will:

• Describe different schemes to rank the severity of ASR at the time of sampling
• Discuss how we use complementary techniques, such as residual expansion testing and bulk resistivity measurements, to provide stakeholders with a sense of how much expansion and damage may occur in the future
