September Webinar: Early Age Cracking
Join DRP, a Twining Company, for a free webinar on recognizing and understanding early age cracking mechanisms.
Early age cracking occurs at the intersection between material properties, workmanship, design, and environmental conditions during construction. Mechanisms causing this cracking include plastic shrinkage and settlement, autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage, and thermal volume changes.
These cracks are a common source of frustration for materials suppliers, contractors, designers, and owners. This is particularly true when an incorrect diagnoses of responsibility for these cracks results in a wrongful transfers of costs between these parties.
DRP’s webinar will:
- Review how petrography delivers important insights toward understanding the nature and cause(s) of early age cracks and helps determine where responsibilities for them lie
- Highlight case studies to illustrate how various techniques, including fluorescence microscopy, help us recognize and understand early age cracking mechanisms
