DRP is now a USACE certified laboratory

DRP, a Twining Company, received notice this week from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Materials Testing Center (MTC) and Engineer Research and Development Center that our laboratory is validated as a petrographic laboratory.  This certification is a huge step forward for our firm’s ability to deliver concrete insight to USACE projects and infrastructure. Laboratory validation is central to providing services for airfield pavements, naval facilities, and more.

What does this validation mean?

The mission of the MTC is to provide quality materials testing in a timely fashion and at a reasonable cost. This validation indicates that our personnel, equipment, and internal quality control measures meet the standards set by the USACE for quality control and quality assurance.

  • Aggregate – C 295 – Opt – Petrographic Examination of Aggregates for Concrete
  • Concrete – C 457 – Opt – Air-Void System by Microscopic Determination
  • Concrete – C 856 – Opt – Petrographic Examination of Hardened Concrete

Obtaining USACE validation as a petrographic laboratory is an important milestone for DRP. This validation allows us to provide petrographic services for everything from qualifying aggregate materials for use in new concrete mixtures to troubleshooting existing construction to evaluating the durability and remaining service life of aging structures. We look forward to serving the industry in this capacity on these important infrastructure projects. And it’s just the start—stay tuned for updates on pending validation for several other types of aggregate testing.

How does DRP deliver insight?

Our mission at DRP is to be more than just another accredited testing laboratory. We don’t provide cookie-cutter one-size fits all testing solutions, and we always listen carefully to our client’s concerns regarding the economics and technical challenges of the issue. This understanding is central to our ability to provide clients with the information they need to understand not only what went wrong, but how it went wrong, and how to correct it in the future.

Let’s get started. Today.

DRP takes pride in developing and maintaining close relationships with our clients, many of whom we’ve known and worked with over more than three decades. Drop us an email or give us a call today to find out how we can work together.
